–Kennedy School by McMenamins–

McMenamins Kennedy School

“McMenamins renovated the once-abandoned scholastic gem and turned it into Portland’s most unique hotel. Here you’ll find 57 comfy guestrooms with private baths and telephones (some fashioned from former classrooms complete with original chalkboards and cloakrooms – others with an author’s theme), a restaurant, multiple small bars, a movie theater, soaking pool, gift shop and a brewery. Extensive original artwork and historical photographs cover the walls, ceilings, doorways and hallways.”

This is where we plan to stay, but we weren’t able to get any special group rates. Guestrooms at Kennedy School come in the king-sized bed variety for around $125-$145, or queen beds for $115-$135. Rates vary seasonally. Make your reservations online, here. Or call to reserve by phone at 1-888-249-3983 or 1-503-249-3983. (Same day reservations must be made by calling the hotel.)

If you would like to arrange your own accommodations at a hotel nearby the ballroom, there’s a map for you below. (Just so you know, reviews of the very closest hotels don’t look particularly good.) Click “View Larger Map” below for the full Google page.

And that’s that. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
